Thoughts

Long time since last post. Think I have one from March I didn't post, about the company I worked for for 25+ years shutting down, but that's whatever.

First thought....when the hell did everyone get so rude and entitled? Like you can't wait in line for 2 seconds, when every register is open and cashiers are working as fast as possible, around those of you with card issues or those who have to have each price notarized as it's rung up or those digging for exact change? Pet peeve, those who take up space unlocking their cards or transferring money between accounts. Do that shit before you get to the checkout. Seriously. We are not paid enough to wait for you to fix your finances at the register with 40 people behind you.

2nd thought....returning items, bring your damn receipt.  Period. Do not expect to be accommodated if you have no proof of purchase, and especially do not expect me to buy your fish story of "my wife bought it for 100 bucks here" when we never ever sold it for that much and haven't carried them in over a year. I dont care that you're x years old and " know how stores work ". Sir, I have 36 plus years in this field, mostly in management, and I know way more than you. Yes he got told that.

3rd thought...different topic. I'm done making and wrapping all gifts for Christmas so my day off has been necessary stuff and doomscrolling as I relax. So many things I could find to discuss, but some of my current favorites are those calling out poor behavior of others. Especially predatory behavior. No, sir, you do not have the right to someone's body because you paid for dinner or she dressed cute or whatever. Stop it. Grow up. No means no. Probably more on this topic at a later date.

4th....if you drive, use your common sense. Use your headlights, it helps others see you even if it doesn't help you see. Stop using those idiotic blinding blue LED lights. Use your turn signals when changing lanes, exiting a freeway, turning. Don't tailgate. I will lessen my speed to below the speed limit (not on the freeway. I'm not stupid), especially if we're on the 2 lane state highway and you're acting the fool because I'm going 5 over and it's not fast enough for your RedBull soaked brain.

Ok done for now. Peace out, merry Christmas

Putting things in perspective

My daughter is now 17. She has a best friend that she has known since she was 8 and considers a sister. Life happens and her friend's parents divorced and friend and mom moved to Tennessee. The girls stay in touch constantly via social media and C. stays with us quite often when she comes to visit her dad.

Her mom was very recently diagnosed with stage 4 brain cancer and from what we hear, has not been given any real hope for being around much longer. Now, she could live for a long time, but without a miracle it may not be very long at all before she is gone. Realistically speaking.

It puts things in a different light when you have to face your own mortality.  I was told tonight, amidst a never ending hug from my daughter, that her friend's mom has basically given up. That she had a long talk with her daughter about what was going to happen and all when she dies. It has to be hard,  as a kid, to hear that from your mom.

I've lost a parent. Dad passed in August of 2017. Daughter lost her other grandpa hours earlier. It was a miserable time for us all. I don't think we've come even close to getting over and past it. We just went on with our lives after a point, but it still hurts horribly. And I'm 51. I'm not a teen still in high school.

All I know is this child, my daughter by another mother, is going to need everyone in her life to be there and be there in a loving way, not judging or anything. Just love her through it and be her support system, because 16 or not, she is still a child who is going to miss her mother beyond belief.

So I may not know much about France and its politics,  but even I know that if you elect someone who says that you're just going to have to accept terrorism as part of life,  your country is probably going to hell real quick.

I mean, aren't terrorists bad? Like we don't want them around?

Apparently France doesn't give a damn that they're already overrun with the bad guys. Guess they forgot Paris.

at least know your subject lol

So, I'm scrolling down through Facebook and Twitter a little while ago and amongst the junk news and political crap of the day is a blurb about a film critic panning a remake of Murder on the Orient Express because, get this,,,,THERE ARE NO ASIANS IN IT!!!!!

GASP!! The horror of it all!!!!

Not really.

For a film critic, she is remarkably uneducated on her topic of choice, because she seems to know nothing about the original movie or the 1930's book by Agatha Christie.

And most semi educated folks were taking great pains to inform her of this fact. Including myself because I just can;t let complete ignorance pass. I mean, it's not hard to search Google or Bing or whatever your chosen search engine is to find out more than you'd ever want to know on any given topic.

She might want to try it before she tries to play a race card that does not exist.

Here's a link to one story about it, if anyone is interested.

Peaceful???Protestors

Not what I see. Peaceful is marching, speechifying, carrying signs, not creating a ruckus that disrupts business and traffic without a lawful permit. Peaceful is not rioting, screeching, assaulting those who disagree with you, destroying or damaging property, etc.

When that happens, you are no longer a peaceful protestor, protected by the Constitution,

You are a thug. A criminal. And lower on the list of slime than the politicians you are supposedly protesting against.

There are many ways available to a person to voice displeasure at how things are run. There is social media, local media, petitions, peaceful lawful protests.

Also a point to make. When you lower yourself to wearing vagina costumes and the like, and using words my mother would mash my mouth for and I'm almost 50....when you call for the assassination/death/overthrow by coup of a person, you become the very foul filth you are supposedly fighting against.

Enough for tonight. I have to be up early to work.

So I'm the single mother of a teenage daughter.

That should be enough said right there. Truthfully it should.

But said teenager has a surefire way to get my goat faster than anything I know and that is to accuse me of racism or worse being stupid because I don;t see life from her perspective a lot of times.

Like last night.

My significant other is having major phone issues so he was using my phone to call his provider. Half an hour later, he has the promise of a new phone on its way and he was telling me about the end of the call I couldn;t hear. The lady from the call center in the Phillipines who could barely understand him and he her. So my only comment was, for right or wrong, that if people are going to do business in a country they need to be able to coherently speak the language and comprehend it as well.

That set my kid off  like you would not believe. I was rude and a number of other things. I told her that there have been a number of times I have been on the phone and I cannot understand the other person due to their extremely thick accent and have really wanted to request someone with better ability to communicate with me and again I was informed I was rude and horrible.

Why? I speak English. Ok American English, but still.  I do not have the ear for dialects and accents and so on that I did when I was younger. I do not remember most of my high school Spanish class. I have not had to use it. The language of this country, the language govt business is done in first and foremost is English. Speak it. Read it . Learn it. If I was moving to or even visiting another country, I would darn sure learn the language first.

Just saying.

To the RNC

An open letter to the Republican National Committee:
I just checked my email and found your survey invitation.  I was curious so I checked it out. I have several issues with your self serving survey.
1) In order to even start the survey, I had to pick a candidate, which quite frankly, given the piss poor excuses for candidates, surpassed only by those on the other side....and that not by more than the tiniest fraction, is not something I am prepared to do. So I slapped a checkmark over one who probably won't last past the next primary and began.
2) Your list of most important issues that I have to pick only ONE of....yeah well I see ALL of them as vital. Everything from the economy, which sucks ass, to terrorism, to protecting our constitutional rights as granted by the Bill of Rights....My candidate will deal with it all....not just a pet one or two.
3) The temerity of you to ask for a donation at the end. I don't have enough extra cash to buy a pot to piss in, sorry if that offends folks, so dry up. Do not ever dare to send anything else to me that contains a request for money. As a matter of fact, just don't send me anything else. I'm a highly intelligent adult and more than capable of determining my choice for president, senate, and dogcatcher without your surveys and questions clogging up my email and rural mailbox. However, feel free to call my home...with a number and name readily apparent on my caller ID, and I will be more than happy to answer in multiple bullet points any question you wish to pose.

Thank you.

And this is in no way giving permission to the other party to solicit my vote.
