soccer and nuts in general

End of the soccer season. thank goodness......especially after the last two games with both teams riddled with injuries--most consisting of ball in the face.....I guess I should be glad she doesn't play football......LOL.....anyway she and another little girl on her team got smacked hard with the ball, Shel in her left cheek and Taylor in her right, as little Bryson threw the ball in from the sidelines for the other team....girls were doing their job, guarding his teammates, but things happen......Shellie had a good cry and lots of cuddles from mom who first instinct was to take my baby home and never let her near a soccer field again.......and then she went back into the game---her idea.....Taylor had a good cry and then refused to talk to anyone for a while.....They were not the only ones hurt. Play stopped several times for both sides to deal with injured players.....All that is left now is tomorrow, trophy day, and the league is doing a mini fall festival at the field.....

getting ready to write chore lists for the kids for tonight. I've already told Shel about her room, but I am going to leave her a more detailed list, so she can do one thing at a time, instead of walking in there and going"where do I start?" The boys get a little more--being so much older anyway......and I forgot there is a home game at the high school tonight, so they will have to hustle if they want to go. There is always the chance it will be raining tonight too, so if it does, well more time for chores to get done.......

Beginning the season from hell at work--both mine and Ron's......we'll see how this year goes.....

I got my flu shot yesterday....never have had one before, but I was already there for a checkup, and decided it was a good idea....I am taking the kids next week to get theirs......Ron refuses, says he does not feel like he needs one, so he's an adult----at least he is not one of those crybaby males who expects to be babied and fussed over if he has a sniffle....he would just as soon we ignore him completely when he is ill......

Well, back to cleaning........

politics in general

Ok, now that I am done with the stupid people rant, on with the stupider people rant......

I opened my copy of the local rag today to find that, no surprise, the editorial board has endorsed Obama for President......I say no surprise b/c I have never known them, since 1988--the first election I could vote for Pres in----they have never endorsed anyone who was not a flaming liberal. They endorsed Dukakis for heaven's sake!!!! Apparently they don't mind that Obama fails to answer any question that may paint him in a less than flattering light. That he flip flops as bad as Kerry when the polls don't agree with him......that he continues to run attack ads against McCain, while all the time whining about the fact that McCain is running attack ads against him......

Good for the goose, good for the gander, as the saying goes....

I have since posted on the rag's forum that I believe they are stupid and I really believe that if Obama wins, the people of this country that voted for him will get what they wished for---and they are not going to like it one damn bit.......

The voters supposedly want change---well then vote in a new breed-------not someone already in the insider circles----don't vote for the same old same old-----vote 3rd party, vote against the incumbent, whoever they are, from dogcatcher to senator.....Hell this damn state will vote Byrd in after he turns to dust in his grave. No surprise, since our neighboring county voted 107% of its registered voters in the last election...........and now with Acorn and similar groups, half the country is poised to do the same.......this election will be one of the most fraudulent on record, and no one seems to care......

I bet they will when their rights under the Constitution are taken away. When their paycheck disappears because of all the new taxes that will be heaped on us to pay for the "new" programs that Obama wants.....I bet when gay rights and proabortion rights and purple green people eaters rights are set up above and beyond everyone else and mandated to be taught in our schools, people will care........I bet when gas is pushed to the top on price per gallon b/c we can't drill, and it's harming the ozone and whatever else, people will take a little notice of what they got when they put this inexperienced bonehead in office.....

Then again, the country has Rip Van Winkled for the last 20 years.......they may not even notice....and that is what Obama boy is banking on........

observations on those around me....

First, I know that the people I am about to rant about most likely don't read this blog, or any other probably.....stupid people don't read anyway......and these people are stupid with a capital S....

There is the driver I was following into work on Thursday at 4:30 am......on a road with a speed limit of 55---which I have to admit at 4:30 am with deer everywhere, even I am not stupid enough to go that fast----but 20mph.....why even bother driving? I can walk faster than that.....all the way from the campfire camp road to rt 60......he/she finally got a little faster a little past the elementary school, where the speed limit is 45--they got to about 40......good thing I left for work a few minutes early.......

Then the same day, same time, same stretch of road-----moron behind me with his bright lights on his SUV or truck......riding my rear end....remember the bumper sticker that said if you are close enough to read this.......(fill in your own blank--there were several versions).....well the boy was so close he should have bought me dinner first.......did not get the hint when I made sure I was backed off the slowpoke in front of me.....did not get the hint when I flashed my brakes at him.....did not take the hint when I pretty well stopped the van going around some curves----had to, they guy in front of me did......and didn't even notice when I moved my outside mirrors so that his brights would flash back on him........needless to say, I was a little irritated.....at least at the forks of the road, he went on to town while I followed slowpoke the direction I needed to go......

THEN, after making my turn behind slowpoke, another truck turns in behind me (wouldn't think there would be this much traffic at that time of morning, would you?) and proceeds to break a few traffic laws----such as speed limit 45---going about 55 or 60---such as no passing on double yellow stripe----yep, passed me right in front of the elementary school-----twice---passed slowpoke near 4H camp road......I hope he had a real emergency....which bring me to another point---if you do have an honest to God emergency, put on your flashers and flap your headlights in my mirror, and I will move over to let you pass at the first safe spot I come to.....

Then there was Friday night on my way back from taking my oldest boy to the homecoming game. I get to the big curve where there are always deer or turkeys flocking around and I am behind 2 other vehicles who suddenly hit their brakes, so I hit mine too. I always go slow around that curve day or night, because it is a kiss your own butt type of curve. As I get around the curve, I see why they had hit the brakes so suddenly----dumbass moron jackass stupid butt on a RIDING LAWN MOWER, with NO LIGHTS, and ALL IN DARK CLOTHES, is happily riding along in our lane, doo doo doo der de der.........He does move onto what passes for the shoulder of the road out here, and we get by him. He also got blasted by my horn---hopefully it scared him into soberness, 'cuz I figure he had to be drunk to pull that stunt........bad enought the damn 4 wheelers out here ride the paved roads---which is illegal---especially at night, when they figure no one will care, but at least they use their headlights!!!!!

And finally this morning, as Shellie and I came out of IHOP after a mommy/daughter time together breakfast, there is a Chevy Avalanche parked diagonally from us--big ass white SUV---with two overgrown poodle looking dogs sitting in the back seat, owners no where around---obviously inside enjoying their food....one dog barks at us--not a mean bark or anything, but enough to draw our attention. At which point my stupidity detector goes off and I wonder out loud to Shellie why people can't care for their animals enough to leave them at HOME when they go out like that. It's not the first time I have seen something like that. I think it is stupid to leave animals in the car when they could have been very cozily curled up at home, instead of sitting in a car while "mommy and daddy" go into the restaurant to eat. Now ya know, animals aren't dumb, they know there is food in that joint----you can smell it when you enter the parking lot......geez......I hope they pee on the dvd player when they got home--any self respecting dog would......

"I'm mad as hell"

All right!!!!! Walked in the door from taking son #2 back to school from orthodontist appt, and I had left the tv on while I was gone...Fox News Channel was live at a McCain/Palin rally in Wisconsin, and it was the town hall style----audience asking questions of the candidates---like it should be---and McCain was with a guy who said it right---he is mad as hell and wants McCain/Palin to get in office and straighten the bullshit up. I think he sums up the way a big number of those of us who vote feel......I, too, am mad as hell.......at the thought that people would even vote in Obama and his crowd---Pelosi and the like running this country is the scariest thing I have ever had to face........I don't want their hands in my pocketbook, any more than they already are, and preferably less!!!!

I am tired of hearing that Obama's past and his prior associations don't matter, when at every turn that camp is pushing at everyone how much Bush and McCain are alike.......He is a different breed of Democrat----as Col. Potter on MASH used to say--"HORSE HOCKEY!!!"

I am tired of the media pushing Palin as an angry white woman who stirs her audiences to hate and violence......I AM an angry white woman, and I have yet to bestir myself to violent hateful action. Palin is a lot like me----she is honest and she tells it like it is, whether you want to hear it or not. If her supporters turned on the media at one of the rallies, then I'm sorry, but I believe they brought it on themselves by their constant haranguing against McCain. You know the media is supposed to report what happens, not make the freaking news, and not present their personal opinions while doing their job. Unless you are a commentator, who makes your living giving your opinion, then shut the hell up unless you are actually reporting the facts. No one in the media seems to be doing this, from ABC/NBC/CBS to CNN/MSNBC/FOX......The print media is just as bad, from the local rag to the Associated Press, etc.....there is not a fair or balanced story in the whole place, and it reeks like yesterday's fish........Forget something being rotten in Denmark----try the whole stinking media establishment..........

And we as a country have let it get that way.....we take what we read or see on tv as gospel truth. If it is on the news it must be true. Why are we not more skeptical? Why do we not question what we are told? Where is our intelligence? Where is our common sense? Why are we not holding accountable those who are not doing their jobs appropriately? Why am I beating my head against the same damn wall all the time?

Fact is, not all of us who are voting for McCain are rich; some of us are one or two paychecks away from losing it all. Most of us are hardworking, honest Americans who are tired of the welfare state, of govt interference in everything from our schools to our doctors to our very bedrooms.......Most of us work very hard for our money and we do it without fanfare or orange pancake tv makeup in front of cameras. We do it to pay our bills, and educate our kids, and live our American dream. And we do it on far less than those who use the limelight to spout off what they think everyone else should be doing, i.e. Hollywood, media and politicians. I do not base my vote on what Alec Baldwin thinks is right. Personally I think he needs a freaking shrink, or a lobotomy, but that is my personal opinion. I base my vote on what is right for my family, what coincides with my value and moral system, and what I beleive to be best for this country. I could care less what some European or Asian or 3rd world country thinks of how we do business.....screw 'em. Let them run their own countries and let us run ours......

I don't think we should allow political contributions from any foreign nation or company or individual. I don't think these splinter groups like Acorn should be allowed to register voters. I don't have a problem with motor voter type registrations---you know, register to vote when you get your license, or register your vehicle, or such. But I think voter registration drives should be conducted by whoever is in charge of voter registration. And I think early voting is simply a way to commit voter fraud....if you need to vote absentee, then fine, but otherwise show up to the poll on the day set aside for the election........Make the cutoff for registration for an election at least 30 days prior to the election so that officials can verify that the registrations are valid. I saw where in Marion Co., Indiana, they have registered 105% of eligible voters......WTF!!!!!to be blunt........How does that happen? Through deliberate voter fraud.....I mean hell, I live in straight Democratic, vote the union party line country, the great state of WV, where the vote stays bought until someone else pays ya better........Ok, maybe not so much now as in decades past, but you get my drift.....voter fraud is a huge issue........

Tell ya what, this redneck, work for my money, straight shooting woman voter has a way to deal with voter fraud-----any election that there is decided to be fraud in, needs to be re done. Run it all over again until there is no more fraud. And to keep the govt running for the years it would take, the incumbents stay in office until the results are honest........I know, not a great idea......got a lot of flaws......but it's a thought anyway.....

By the way, did anyone watch the debate Tuesday night------how can you vote for someone who refuses to answer a single question? At least McCain answered, whether the answer was something you wanted to hear, or even a complete answer, at least he had a response.......Obama never seemed to answer anything--he sure is a good dancer though, because he danced thru the whole debate----around the questions, and so on.........

use your brain......

Ok cross another morning show completely off my list. The Today show today seemed to be---my opinion only---bashing McCain for not knowing ahead of time what the stock market would do after the bailout was signed. Whooppee doo, it dropped below 10,000 yesterday. Ok I understand that it hurts investors when it does stuff like that, but it was the first time in 4 years it had done so. does anyone remember 1987? The world did not come to a total end, the market rebounded over time. Did anyone honestly truly believe that the bailout bill would immediately solve all ills in the financial world? If you did, I have one word for you---dumbs***.

So was McCain supposed to have a crystal ball or a magic8 ball to predict what would happen? And why,if McCain was supposed to know ahead of time what the future held, why is Obama not being held to that same standard? Is he not also a senator? Is he not also privy to the same info that McCain is? Don't give me the crap about how McCain's big rich Wall Street buddies would have kept him apprised of stuff----Obama has the same connections----and even better, he has connections with those who actually helped CAUSE the situation---i.e. Franklin Raines of Freddie/Fannie---sorry can't seem to separate them..........

So in my view all the pundits and news anchors are doing is trying to swing an election. As usual. Apparently once you hit the big time media, you have to renounce all common sense and jump off the bridge with the rest of your friends. Did your mamma not warn you about that crap as a kid?

By the way, what the heck is the deal with the all Obama channel on our satellite? I know it says it is a paid program, but what the hell? Far from making me want to watch it, it just irritates me. It is taking up space on my tv guide that could be used for something else. But there again, some moron is going to watch it and think it is God given gospel and vote for the shyster. Oops, I'm showing my conservative bias, shame on me.......Mwahahahahahahahahahahha.........

Once again I am sure there is more that can be said, but as I have been working quite a lot more than usual lately, lovely being on salary huh?---I will let it go at that........and go take my blood pressure medicine before I watch any more tv........

"new" bailout plan???

So the House failed to pass it on Monday, so the Senate tweeks it a little--a very little-- and passes it yesterday and now the House is expected to do likewise. Please God NONONONONONONONO!!!!!Why should those of us who have not done anything wrong have to cover the rears of those who did? Why should such a tax burden be placed on us to save the rears of the poor businesspeople and poor companies and poor decision makers who got their companies and customers into such a mess to start with?

There is no reason under the sun that would convince me that any bailout is a good idea. Make poor decisions, get greedy and sell people stuff they can't afford (yeah the fault lies with those people too) and then cover your butt on the shoulders of the taxpayers and consumers ? Hell no.....Do you have an extra $2300 per person in your family to pay to salvage these companies? I don't ...my money is something I have EARNED through my hard work, and it is used to pay the house payment--which we are current on----and feed my kids, and keep the utilities turned on, and so on. It is not for those who don't work, or those who screw their customers and employees and the govt and so on, to make a cushy little pile for themselves.......As I have said in a prior post, if I made poor business decisions, misused my customers or employees, ran up debt and ran my company in the ground, I would not deserve to have a job, much less the hefty golden parachutes of these CEO's, etc. They deserve to be left in the streets, no severance package and liable for the costs of repairing the damage their actions caused.....

And for those of you voting for Obama---many of his cronies are very involved in this mess---many of them either helped create it or seem to think they are the solution, when the only thing they can propose is more of the same..I'm not saying the McCain camp is blameless either, and I fault both candidates for pushing this blasted mess onto the shoulders of America as a whole. I understand the whole what happens on Wall St affects Main st...I really do......but Main st. should not have to foot the whole bill for the f**** up way Wall st has been doing business....And they have been doing business this way for many many years---not just since Bush took office-----a lot got going while Clinton was in there.....read your history books----and not the rewritten ones of the last couple of years.......you know the ones that totally denounce everything we learned as kids in school.....but that is an argument for another day.....

Let's put it this way: raise our taxes to foot the bill for this debacle, spending goes down, forcing businesses to raise prices and cut payroll (that means cutting hours employees are scheduled or cutting positions altogether). Which cuts spending further. Which forces harsher action on the part of the company to maintain profit---and in the case of some smaller companies, forces them to maybe even shut their doors, putting people out of work. Ok then,,,,less people working=less people paying the jumped up taxes, putting the burden on those still with jobs. Spending goes down further, etc......see the vicious circle? Get it through your thick skulls yet?

Now, most companies do not use their own cash flow to run their businesses...They run on lines of credit from banks or other investors. Most times even your very paycheck is drawn on a line of credit like that......So those lines of credit dry up, as they are doing now.......suppliers don't get paid, which means less product to for customers to buy, which means less money to pay back the extended credit with, which means someone else doesn't get paid, which means......ok NOW is it sinking in????

Yes we are probably in for a hard recession.....many of years with some actual years of life on us have been through at least mini-versions of this before......and lived through it. Forget the bailout, let the companies sink or pull themselves out by their own bootstraps---let the survival of the fittest begin as far as business goes. Maybe they will learn something and do better next time.....or they will be absorbed by those who were better at it than they were and life goes on.......Go back to living on cash, not credit, oh ye companies with these problems.......

Go ahead bash away........I didn't hold a gun to your head and force you to read this, now did I???
