Aren't people funny? 9/10th's of the year they would kill to give you their opinion on politics and the like, and yet come election time you can't find anyone willing to put his money where his mouth is and actually vote. More importantly, and I know I'm asking an awful lot of this apathetic society, but I'd like to see someone with an INFORMED opinion, someone who has actually taken the time to study the issues from all sides, vote. Way too many just spout off at the mouth without taking the time to understand the issues involved.
Yeah, I can be guilty of it at times--most people I know do that once in a while. But I DO vote, and I do try to look at all sides of the issues. I also try to be openminded about different candidates, but quite honestly, sometimes it's way too much like the hiring process we go thru at work. Look at application, interview subject, who has all the right answers, hire them and then find out that they can't or most likely won't do the work required. Only with a normal new hire, we usually figure this out in a matter of days and can remedy the situation, but it seems like when it comes to politicians, people never learn. We just, as a general rule, keep "hiring" the same imcompetence over and over and over again---50+years later we may get a glimpse of the incompetence, but by then it's too late--he's already stolen--I mean spent--OUR hard earned money for his pet projects......
As Earl Pitts would say,"WAKE UP AMERICA!!!!!"
