My college roommate from my senior year at Miami University (yes, that would be OHIO) came this weekend for a long overdue visit. We had not seen each other since my wedding day almost 7 years ago. We stay in touch, via the occasional email, phone call, etc. But this face to face weekend was fantastic. We met at the nearby McD's so I could lead her to my house Thursday night and spent Friday and Saturday amusing my kids and husband with stories and craziness that was always the hallmark of the best of our times together.
We played cornhole--she had never before--and tossed in the party version of Name that tune--the '80's version, much to the amusement of my husband--who steadfastly maintains that the 80's sucked musicwise--he listened to Metallica and Iron Maiden, etc., then, while we were Terence Trent d'Arby-ing it. My 15 yr old step daughter was highly entertained as well--to see stepmomma buzzed from great Ohio wine and laughing it up and so on. Not to mention that she smoked her dad on the 80's trivia. What a girl!!!!
Mary also took me and Ron and the kids Geocaching---never heard of it--it's like looking for buried treasure using your GPS system. Very neat. The first try--at B'ville Park, was unsuccessful, but today at Salt Rock they found the cache, and have a pretty decent idea of where they went wrong at one near the high school. I may just have to get a cheap GPS just to let the boys keep it up.
More later but right now, Footloose is calling my name!!!!
Rock on 1980's!!!!!
